For every transaction imported into your Finbooks account, it is essential to assign a price to the token involvedâwhether itâs a purchase (deposit), sale (withdrawal), or exchange (trade)âto ensure accurate balance tracking and precise capital gains calculations.
You can choose to use the automatically retrieved market price or manually input a custom price.
By default, if no specific price is provided via the connection (API or CSV), Finbooks will apply the automatic market rate.
Refer to this article to learn how to use both methods according to your needs.
How to set the token price for your transactions
click on Transactions in the main menu on the left
locate the transaction you want to edit from the list and click on the three dots
click Edit
scroll down to the section Unit price and total value of the transaction, then click Edit prices
you can choose between:
manually entering the price in the corresponding box, or
clicking Apply market value to automatically retrieve the price based on the date and time of the transaction
when you fill in one of the two boxes (Unit price or Total fiat value), the other will update automatically in real time
finally, click Save changes at the top right to confirm and save the price
