Finbooks provides users with a feature that allows them to trace the origin of an asset’s acquisition cost by viewing the transactions that contributed to its cost basis.
This tool is particularly useful for verifying the cost basis used to calculate the capital gain or loss generated by the relevant transaction.
ℹ️ Data availability
Capital gain details are only available for withdrawals and trades transactions.
Incoming transactions do not generate capital gains.
How to access the Capital gain details
Read this short article to learn how to access the feature.
click on Transactions from the main navigation menu
locate the transaction you want to check and click on the 3 dots icon at the right
now click on Show details
click on the Capital gain details tab
in the Charging price and history section below are displayed both the charging price expressed in the fiat currency set for your account and the list of the transactions that generated the charging price of the current transaction
in cases where also the fee paid for the transaction has generated a gain or loss, there will be a dedicated tab called Fees capital gain showing the relevant data
