Finbooks automatically deletes accounts that remain inactive for 14 days after expiration. This policy keeps our data practices compliant and our user base active.
Below is an overview of when deletion happens, what it means for your data, and how to avoid it.
When does deletion happen?
If a Finbooks subscription expires and the account is not renewed or reactivated within 14 days, the account is deleted. Before that happens, users receive email notifications reminding them to renew, so there's a clear window to act before losing access.
What happens once an account is deleted?
Deletion is permanent. Once it occurs:
the account is no longer linked to the original email address
login credentials stop working
password reset emails will not be sent, since there is no account left to reset
all associated data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
There is no grace period after the 14 days — at that point, the only option is to start over with a new account.
How to avoid losing your account
Avoiding deletion is simple:
renew before expiration, or log in within the 14-day window afterward to keep the account active by renwing your plan
watch for email reminders about expiration or inactivity, and act on them promptly
If your account has already been deleted
Unfortunately, there's no way to recover a deleted account or its data. To keep using Finbooks, you'll need to:
go to the Finbooks website or app
create a new account with your preferred email address
start fresh — previous data cannot be restored or transferred
