What is the Portfolio Performance?

The portfolio performance is a tool that allows users to monitor and check how well their investments are doing over a specific period of time. It shows whether your investments are gaining or losing value and by how much.

How to read the displayed data

Fiscal Performance or Trading Performance?

In order to properly understand the data displayed in this section of the portfolio, it's necessary to explain the difference between fiscal performance and trading performance.

Fiscal Performance

The purpose of this tool is to measure profit or loss for tax reporting purposes, according to local tax laws.

It focuses on taxable gains or losses, which may differ from actual trading results due to rules like FIFO/LIFO, cost basis adjustments, or allowable deductions.

Trading Performance

The purpose of this tool is to measure how well your investments or trades are performing in terms of profit and loss. It focuses purely on market results, ignoring tax implications.

Actual data dispayed

In the Performance indicators section, there are two main types of data:

  • Realised capital gain & losses: shows the amount of profit or loss generated over the selected timeframe

  • Total incomes: shows the amount coming from income activity such as salaries paid in cypto or staking rewards for some countries

On top of the desired timeframe users can also rely on the Filters button to visualize the data only for selected connections instead of the entire portfolio.

Graphic representation

At the bottom of the page, a graphical representation of the performance of the user’s crypto investments is also available, both from a tax perspective and a trading perspective. Click the corresponding button to view one or the other.
